Solar Eclipse in Leo

Eclipse season comes with a lot of lore. It’s a time of fated events; beginnings and endings that despite their suddenness, have been in the works for a long time. Think back to August of 2008, 1999, and 1981. That’s when we last had a total solar eclipse in the dramatic and generous king of the jungle’s territory.

Despite the all-encompassing fiery energy of Leo, the eclipse event itself is the product of a slow burn. In the moment, they occur when a New or Full Moon aligns with the nodes of the moon AKA they cross paths and create a super-charged set of days. The sign that they’re in indicate the kind of lessons we’ll face so with Leo we’re talking lights, camera, and action in a major way.

Remember, the nodes have JUST switched into Leo and Aquarius and in the Leo department of your chart you’re getting rid of extra inventory so this week you may see that something you were already thinking about letting go of, swiftly exits and maybe in a dramatic way. There is so much action in the Leo house of your chart with the Sun currently in Leo, Mercury now in Leo, Jupiter in Leo for the next year and the south node in Leo for the next 18 months.

Depending on where it lands for you (and no matter what) there will be a ton of action.

Leo: it’s time to take the ego out of your goals. you may find yourself not caring as much about the glitz and glamour and wanting to show up loudly as the person you’ve worked so hard to become. the irony of course is that the authenticity you find and embrace is what brings your lifelong dreams of recognition within reach. when in doubt, serve others, that is where you’ll really shine. you have a golden period right now of unlocking a new level of creativity- be disciplined

Virgo: the transitions you’ve gone through have been far from low-maintenance but you’re learning how to surrender for the sake of maintaining your spiritual center. your relationship to a higher power may be where you need to work on building trust and you should do

it by unlocking your own creativity. instead of praying conventionally, try painting something, writing a song, or dancing. there are infinite ways to connect, but you have to release some

of your piety.

Libra: you’re looking for your creative community and may be walking away from groups that don’t fill your cup anymore. that’s ok, in order to expand into the places you want, you have to be willing to let it go with love and move on. the next couple of years are about finding where you belong and releasing guilt around bridges you burned or opportunities you lost. you have a new network incoming and you’ll feel seen while being able to refocus on your truest desires. not all of the bridges are beyond repair, just give it time and don’t push.

Scorpio: a sudden twist of fate around your career and professional reputation may require a surrendering of ego and creative problem solving. it may be time for you to step up to a leadership position and in order to prepare for a more demanding or forward-facing position, an even temper and impulse control are of the utmost importance. don’t get caught saying or doing something that the people you need to trust you, will have a hard time forgetting. as a fixed sign, take the next couple of weeks easy and stay calm.

Sagittarius: you have something to say and people want to hear it. it’s time for you to take all that you have learned about what you stand for and to use it to reach a larger audience. there may be an event that pushes you into a leadership position before you thought you were ready but the time is now. you may step into this by furthering your education, beginning to teach, booking a trip for the sake of spiritual exploration, or by getting to know yourself on a deeper level through meditation and reading. take your time aiming your arrow because you are unlikely to miss.

Capricorn: you may have a sudden realization around intimacy that requires you to lower your walls and let someone in. eclipse season may also bring some come-to-jesus moments about your growing debt or needing to implement a financial plan for growth. money and sexuality both come with a lot of shame-centered wounds so this is an especially important time for you to be curious but gentle with yourself and others. there may be some creative ways to recoup, but vetting the process and next steps is essential. communication is currency, too.

Aquarius: your longest-term partnerships are under the spotlight and there’s a lot of shedding to do. you tend to detach or be cold when you don’t feel that you’re being valued but unlike your fixed sign colleagues, your stubbornness inspired with a care for community and if that’s important to you, you have to remember to leave your ego out of your conversations with your spouse and business partners. aquarian marriages may be on the chopping block this season OR they are destined for a brand new beginning after a hard season.

Pisces: it’s time to step up as a leader in your day to day life. you don’t do well in a standard work environment and you need to figure out a creative way to introduce yourself to the work force. of all the signs, you need to be the most mindful of your health. if you’ve been neglecting or denying health as it relates to your heart, blood pressure, and back. you also need to be mindful of pet health. don’t let those warnings frighten you, being aware of it is a great advantage and all you have to do is be slightly more attentive and cautious.

Aries: it’s a season of change. maybe you’re moving into a different phase of parenthood; or creativity is itching for rebirth, or maybe you’re back in the dating pool. you will have to be in the hourly practice of releasing your rage and anger. find a physical outlet for transmuting feelings of frustration or to move grief, regret, or melancholy through your body. while you are a naturally born leader, sometimes the body forgets, so the discomfort you’re feeling might just be an inner recognition of outer change. try not to blaze through it; float down the river instead.

Taurus: you feel at home where you can be expressive and creative and because of the added importance of the home for your sign, if you are not at peace in your living space or in your headspace, ego can take over. relationships to your given and chosen family have had a full takedown and in order to reset, you have to get out of your way and take the big, leap-of-faith style next step. don’t allow daydreaming to get in the way of doing the damn thing. if you have recently contributed to a fracture of something or someone foundational to you, try to take accountability.

Gemini: you usually have the gift of gab but there’s a hiccup in your communication skills right now that may be creating some rifts and conflict in your day to day life. make sure you’re using your words to tell people what you need from them and what you appreciate about them. there may be sudden news around a club you’re in or within your community or you may have some travel delays or obstacles on your way to work. you need to be especially safe while driving or going on short-distance trips. be extra cautious by keeping your head up, not texting and driving, and make sure you double confirm contracts, tickets, and events.

Cancer: you’re moving into a different (hopefully better) place with your finances over the next year but may have some snafus over the next couple weeks with your bank or house. you benefit from keeping an extra close eye on the comings and goings in your bank account and you’ll want to avoid signing any major money-based contracts until after this energy has cleared. it’s a good time to regulate your nervous system as it relates to money. don’t be impulsive or self-sabotage because you’re growing in your wealth and comfort. breathe through your decisions and look at what you need to do to better your bank account with bravery instead of shame. courage to face it and change it is the move.
